Description

The Leyland Cypress is a pyramindal-shaped evergreen tree that is used is various landscapes.  The Leyland grows tall and very dense, making it perfect for a tall hedge or property border.  When planted closely in a row, the Leylands can be used as a screen to block off an area from the public eye.  It is also great to plant for a windbreak in open areas.

While there is no realy fruit on the Leyland, it seems to be another tree that is perferred nesting spot for birds of all types. 

The Leylands can be grown in almost any type of soil, in many type of different areas making it widely used in many areas across the country.  The Leylands also require very little maintainence pruning.  It grows naturally in it pyramidal shade, making it one of the easiest hedge/screen to use.

Leylands are favored as Christmas trees.  Leylands don't shed their leaves, making them perfect to be used in the home as Christmas trees.  The Leylands give that pine-type look, feel, and smell without that pine-type mess.  The Leyland can be used as a Christmas tree in the pot and then planted after Christmas, making the Christmas tree disposal not only easy, but giving you an addition to your yard.
